Purées
Below, I’ve listed purées that I enjoyed making for my little one when he started eating solids. Although he eats foods with more texture now, I still make and feed him quite a few purées. Partly because he still only has four little teeth and also, besides using them as first stage baby foods, some of the purées listed below can add flavor and a healthy dose of nutrients to baked goods and/or meals. I’ve added purées to Mini Banana Apple Bran Muffins (the apple purée can be substituted with other fruit purées); Sweet Potato and Blueberry Pancakes; and have used vegetable purées as a sauce for pasta, rice, and/or soba noodles. The fruit purées also make a nice treat for anyone in the family to enjoy.

To save time, I normally make large quantities at a time and store portions for future meals. For more on food storage, visit Storing and Reheating Baby Food Safely. The following single-ingredient and flavor combination purées are also listed under the Petit Appétit tab in the menu. As I find other great flavor combinations and recipes that little ones and the whole family can enjoy, I will update the Petit Appétit menu tab.

Until then, I hope you enjoy the purées that follow!

Bon appétit!
Martine
