The best way to store baby food in the refrigerator or freezer is in BPA-free plastic storage containers. Fortunately most purées reheat very well as long as they are stored properly. Place puréed foods in a storage container just large enough to hold it and cover tightly; the food can then be refrigerated for one to two days. If you cannot use all leftovers within that time period, you can freeze it.

Spoon purée into ice cube trays and freeze until solid, then transfer to freezer-weight plastic bags to store. Label and defrost as needed. Frozen foods should be used within one month.

To reheat, allow frozen food to defrost overnight in the refrigerator or transfer directly from the freezer to microwave; avoid defrosting at room temperature, as this can allow harmful bacteria to develop. Do NOT use plastic containers to reheat baby food in the microwave. Transfer food to a glass or microwave-safe bowl. You could also use the stove-top. Either way, ALWAYS test temperature of food before offering it to your baby.

Products I like
I use Mumi and Bubi Solids Starter Kit for freezing purées. The trays are specially designed for freezing baby foods. Each tray holds 21 cubes and each cube is about 2 tablespoons or 1oz.

I also like Beaba trays. Pictured below.

This BPA-free silicone container is designed with 2-oz. cups.
