Mango Avocado Mousse

As if mangos and avocados aren’t delicious enough on their own, straight off the spoon, this dreamy mousse combines them to create a velvety texture and delicious flavor. I recently had a version of this mousse at a friend’s house and wanted to share it with you. Luscious, creamy and easy to make, this mousse only has four ingredients. It comes together in less than 15 minutes. It is now one of my favorite desserts. You can serve it simply, but it’s also very nice garnished with lime zest, fresh mint, or seasonal fruit. Or, you can serve on top of seasonal fruit, like summer berries. Here, I sprinkled a little lime zest, fresh mint and turbinado sugar for added texture.

I prefer to refrigerate my ingredients in advance so the final mousse is cold. Or, chill before serving. Be sure to use ripe, sweet and high quality mangos. And try to use mangos and avocados of about the same size, for balance in flavor.

If you’d like, for a super easy, healthy and cool summer treat, spoon the mousse into popsicle molds and freeze for several hours or overnight.

I added blueberries—to the delight of my toddler—in some of the popsicles. Feel free to try other berries or fruits if you’d like.
